Our history. Our values.

Grange SLSC is a community organisation, whose volunteers provide, first and foremost, surf lifesaving services to our community and a nurturing and positive environment for the development of children via our Tiny Tot and Nipper programs (from the age of 5 to under 13) and teenagers via the Youth Program (at ages under 14 to under 15), leading into the Seniors program where trained young adults are patrolling the beach as qualified surf life savers and continue to train, grow their life skills and participate in the Club.

Members of all ages benefit from being a part of Grange SLSC with continuous training, proficiency assessments and competition in beach awareness, first aid, CPR, water rescue, water craft and surf sports, as well as being an active volunteer in the myriad of roles within the Club and our community.

Contribution

We value safety, inclusion, participation, encouragement, people and the environment.

For over 60 years Grange SLSC has been responsible for the safety of people visiting our stretch of beach.

The Club was established on 4 October 1955 soon after a double drowning tragedy which occurred off the end of the Grange Jetty in 1954.

The current location of our club building exists on land purchased by the Club’s Management Committee during the 1958/59 season.
